would like to invite you to Join Us for our Herb Walk event. (Rain or Shine - bring umbrella or rain coat) Thunderbird Indian Powwow at Queens County Farm Museum
EVERYONE is invited, bring your friends and family, all are welcome! Date: Sunday, July 25, 2021 Start Time: 10:00 AM Est. Duration: All day (Rain or Shine - bring umbrella or rain coat) Powwow: Performances 12-5pm (Gates open at 10am) Limited straw bale seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis; visitors are encouraged to bring lightweight, portable seating to this event. Meet at: Main Entrance, along Little Neck Pkwy Parking Lot: come early, will fill up quickly. Street Parking available. Ticket Options: FREE to Enter farm grounds Powwow 1-Day Pass: $15 admission for Adults and $8 (Children ages 2-12, Ages 1 & under are free) • Event features dance performances and American Indian Craft & Food Market. Additional fees apply for food & craft vendors (prices vary), hayrides ($5/person), and the Floral Escape pop-up. There is no ATM on site. • Online tickets only. (for Powwow, highly recommended) Advance tickets recommended as tickets are limited. PLANNING YOUR VISIT:
• Free event parking available, but limited (please come early) • Farm grounds and restrooms are accessible. • Pets are not allowed, for the safety of our farm animals and visitors. Service animals are permitted as described by the ADA. • Limited straw bale seating available. Visitors encouraged to bring lightweight, portable seating to this event. • Strollers, backpacks and bottled water are permitted on our grounds. • No designated storage for strollers, bags, or coats. • Bicycle rack available on-site • This event may be affected by rain. This spectacular powwow features intertribal Native American dance competitions by over forty Indian Nations. Program features an expansive market of authentic Native American art, crafts, jewelry and food (don’t miss the fry bread!). The Thunderbird American Indian Powwow is an experience not to be missed, connecting the public to ancient Native American traditions and cultures and to each other. Performances include Hoop Dance and Sunset Lighting of the Bonfire at dusk on Friday and Saturday evening. Dance and music have always been a central part of Native American culture. Powwows are social gatherings where friends and family can enjoy each other’s company, often after many months of separation. Join us as we all have a chance to reconnect again.
